Hello Marimuthu,
Hindusthan College of engineering and technology has a good reputation in Coimbatore and tamilnadu. You can definitely seek admission in this college. The placements of students of chemical engineering is good at the moment and I expect the trend to continue even after 4 years when you will pass out from this college. So do not worry about placements which are to happen 4 years from now but concentrate on getting admission and then doing well in the four years course so that you get placed in a good company.

You expected JEE Main AIR is about 307633. You are not eligible for IITs, NITs and CFTIs because of 12th marks. However you can get some state and private engineering colleges. So please try out the Engineering colleges of yours home state you belongs.

Yes, you can change the branch, but the chances of securing the admission in a different branch through the online process is difficult. In the counselling round you'll get the college if any left. Good Luck.

Yes you can apply for B.Tech Chemical Engineering of CIT Coimbatore. The eligibility criteria is given below.
Eligibility criteria : A pass in HSC (Academic) with Maths, Physics and Chemistry with minimum 50% of marks for open category.
Selection criteria : Single Window Counseling by Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai, as per their norms (TNEA conducted by Anna University)
