Those who wish to appear for UGC NET 2023 must follow the certain eligibility criteria:
Age limit:
For Junior Research Fellowship, the maximum age limit is 30 years. There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor. The candidates belonging to women/ SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ transgender/ PWD category will be provided a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. The candidates having research experience will also be eligible for relaxation in age depending on the time period they spent on research upto maximum 5 years. Candidates with LL. Bachelors degree (at least 10+2+3) with Chemistry as a major/honours subject and Mathematics and Physics as other subjects, or
Candidates having a Bachelors degree (at least 10+2+3) without (Major/Honours) must have the concerned degree with (a) Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters, (b) Minimum 2 (Two) courses in Mathematics (c) Minimum 2 (Two) courses in Physics
or
Chemistry as a subject for three years of 6 semesters. Many IIT have different criteria. Go through admission brochure of IIT JAM. They don't ask for Maths as 12th subject. But still have query then contact the IIT
