Before choosing any of the streams, first of all, know about your interest and passion. When it comes to B.Sc in any subject, it's of no importance without doing M.Sc and Ph.D. in that particular subject in today's scenario. Being a biotechnology student, I can explain to you in the easiest way.

Hello Neelima,
Oonce you complete your post-graduation from Science stream then you will be eligible to appear for the CSIR NET not UGC NET.
Don't worry if you heard CSIR NET for the first time. It is the exam which is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) with the same aim as UGC NET.
But the little difference between these two exam is that UGC NET is conducted for non-Science stream in more than 80 subjects and CSIR NET exam is conducted only for Science stream, only in 5 subjects.
As per your plans if you complete your M.Sc. from Chemistry then you can appear for CSIR NET in Chemical Science.

Yes, you can apply for KVPY has a specific cutoff that varies every year depending on the paper. However if you score 55-60 in the paper. You are sure to qualify in SA stream. Try to get an intern every summer (maybe a couple of winters). Mail a good professor in your area of interest and state you are a KVPY scholar. You will get a response. Going through those internships will help you expand your horizons immensely (and I cannot stress this enough). Just meeting and talking to professors, research group will help you very much identify your interests and future endeavors. Not to forget the good experience of knowing more people and

Hi,
There are many opportunities in these courses like you can go for Ph.D. or research in chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology. As per the current scenario, you should opt for biochemistry. It will provide a lot of opportunities in both government as well as private sector.
