Yes, you can even join the B.E. in Mechatronics at Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT) even if you are an average student, provided you fulfill the eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria: Candidates should have completed their 10+2 education with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized board. Admission is based on the TNEA counselling process, where Class 12 marks play an important role. As long as you meet these requirements and perform adequately in the admission process, you can pursue this program at CIT.

The scholarships at Chennai Institute of Technology are based on JEE performance and merit. Merit scholarships are available to all those students also if a student has outstanding overall grade. First-year admission through Single Window counseling with cut-off 190/200 will receive full tuition fee waiver. CIT also provides financial support to economically poor students who have obtained marks between 195 and 200 in Class 12; this financial support is up to INR 50,000 available as scholarship.
