Yes. There is a negative marking in the CUET exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. Negative marking will not be applicable in case of unattempted questions. The marking scheme as per NTA is given below.i. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)ii. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).iv. CUET questions are objective and multiple-choice questions (MCQs) type. The number of questions will vary for each subject or section and paper. There will not be any descriptive question type for CUET UG 2025. From the year 2021 onwards, CUET is conducted in computer-based mode. Till 2020, the exam was conducted in paper-pencil based (PBT) mode. The exam will continue to be conducted in the computer-based mode or online mode. As per the CUET exam pattern, the exam was conducted in two to three slots, depending on the number of applications received in a subject. There were three sections on Language, Domain Subject and General Test (optional). The number of questions and marks will vary from paper to paper.

The National Testing Agency will release the CUET UG 2025 notification and information bulletin tentatively in the last week of February. The CUET UG 2025 notification will mention the important dates pertaining to the application form, admit card, and exam dates. Along with the CUET UG notification, authorities will commence the CUET registrations. Through CUET, one can secure admission in various UG courses offered by 41 Central Universities, 36 State Universities, 29 Deemed Universities and 110 Private Universities and three other universities of India. The courses are offered across Science, Humanities, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Management and other streams. The number of participating institutes has increased exponentially this year.

CUET UG exam was conducted from May 21 to June 23. On account of high number of applicants in some states/UTs, the exam was extended till June 23. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to conclude on June 17. Originally the CUET 2023 exam was scheduled till May 31, which got extended till June 8 and later till June 11. The exam was conducted in three slots each day. Earlier, NTA stated that in case the exam got cancelled for any day, candidates will provided a slot within the reserved time period. The subjects were be scheduled for different dates and slots.

The CUET UG 2023 provisional answer key has been released on June 28. Candidates were given an opportunity to submit challenges or objections against the keys by following the stipulated date and format. However, NTA, recently announced, ''Although the key challenge period is over, for the next few days, NTA will be posting the corrected provisional keys every night, and candidates can still write to NTA indicating possible errors. During this phase, candidates need not pay any fee. Candidates may please visit the NTA website for details.'' The final answer keys will be released along with the result anytime soon.

The CUET UG 2023 result has been announced on July 15. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released in the first week of July. Earlier, UGC had announced the tentative date of result through an official notice released in December 2022. As per that notice, UGC and NTA are aiming to complete the CUET exam by July so that the academic session can commence on time.Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to download the CUET UG 2023 scorecard when released. To view the CUET UG result 2023 candidates must enter their login credentials on the official website of NTA. The link to download the results will be updated soon.
