I strongly advise against choosing a course on the basis of Placements. But I can tell that Civil Engineering is a good branch in terms of placements and package. To get a better Idea about the type and quality of placement you can get accurate information from old aluminies and administration itself.

Hello,
Placements are the essential elements of any college these days. However in practice, this depends a lot on the industrial climate in the country. I feel that this is likely to be buoyant in years to come and hence you will get placed by your college.

Yes, as far as IITs, NITs and reputed government universities r concerned. It looks like these branches have not recovered from the effect of the recession that hit years ago. It is true that in engineering, all branches are not so profitable, some of them are managing to hold good salary in the companies, but some of them have too bad conditions in the market. Looking at a big side of the picture, many graduates are still looking for jobs and many of them satisfied with low paying jobs. This is totally clear that, the average starting pay scale of branches like Civil Engineering is too low.

There were no Ceramics, Polymers units in detail. What is the use of naming the dept. Materials Science if you are only going to teach Metallurgy? Placements are very poor. Most of them were placed in IT companies. Only one or two in core. For GATE, you have to prepare on your own. Only a few professors li
