Branch selection is always the biggest dilemma a student encounters, so select that branch only which fascinates you, rather than going for scopes go for interest, if you have interest in something you can turn something big out of small things, however considering your branch choices it will be better for you to go for IT, as per the latest scenario.

Both fields are good in their own work areas. For civil engineering, there's a bit problem for freshers because the infrastructure's companies needs experienced people. One have to take experience whatsoever the circumstances are. In electronics, nanoelectronics is on high demand. Electronics is better according to me for a fresher.

Central to any new venture is an idea. You must have your own Independent creative idea to start your own business. Do not look for ideas from others. If you have to succeed you have to have your own innovative idea on product or services which can help your prospective customers to solve their business problem or help achieve efficiency / productivity etc.
