The eligibility criteria for the IAS exam primarily focus on educational qualifications, age limit, nationality, and other specified criteria, and they do not restrict candidates based on specific academic disciplines.Having a background in Nursing can offer a unique perspective and expertise in healthcare-related issues, which can be advantageous in administrative roles related to health, public welfare, or governance.

The minimum education qualification to apply for the IAS exam is a graduate degree. The candidate cannot apply for IAS after Class 12 th. Candidates who are in their final year of Graduation can apply for the exam but they will be required to provide the degree of their exam in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) -2 filled for the main exam in June. Alternatively, the candidates aiming for the IAS exam can start preparing for the IAS exam after class 12th, it would help them in clearing the exam in the first attempt.
