Hi Neha!
There are 2 papers in the IFS or CSE/ IAS 2018 Preliminary exam, namely
Paper 1 - General Knowledge and
Paper 2- General Studies
There are 100 questions in Paper 1, and 80 questions in the paper 2.

Hello,
Yes, it is helpful because unfortunately B.Com and BA syllabus tally with GS papers apart from the optional subject. So, if you take economics, it is really helpful in the exam, but you have to study very carefully and with clear understanding.

Hello,
Yes, BA in Sociology helps in clearing the exam as there are some portions in GS Paper 1 which came from sociology but if you take history, geography or economics, it will be beneficial as compared to sociology.

The Union Public Service Commission UPSC Civil Services Exam Syllabus is divided into three categories, namely Preliminary, Mains and Interview. The Preliminary syllabus is mainly designed to assess a candidate's comprehension of current affairs and aptitude within the stipulated time.
