Yes it is. But you have to prepare very hard in order to crack UPSC. Medical students do get less time for preparation of UPSC exams. But do use online study materials while doing your MBBS.

Hello Dear, Good to learn your interest for civil services. But I would like to tell you that LBSNAA is the training institute for those who qualify UPSC Civil Services Examination. Its not a college for post graduation. All the candidates qualifying UPSC examination undergo institutional training at LBSNAA.

Hello Nirmal,
Don't worry much. Many engineering aspirants get success in UPSC so you can too but you have to really work hard as all the thing are new for you i.e. syllabus, pattern method of study. So, by your hard work you can do it rather if any one before joined or not. Firstly, try to find your interest in subject then choose optional and start with the basic book NCERT. And after studying, try to go with some standard book of that particular subject. All the best.

Yes, it's not easy to get into IES. You need to have economics as your subject. It's one of the most high profile jobs in Indian Public Service Commission.

Not at all. The gap shouldn't make much difference. Though you may have to provide a affidavit stating your reason to do so if they asked for it. Rest assured, you will not be disqualified or asked to produce any extra document.

BA would be very helpful in IAS preparations. As most of its syllabus is the base syllabus for Civil Services. You can pursue BA+LLB to build a better foundation of the subjects. B.A. In History would also be very beneficial. To prepare from home, you need to have proper study material and resources. Gather good books and Sample papers. Also read atleast 2 or 3 newspapers daily. It will improve your GS over the time.
