If you want to do B.A, then my suggestion is B.A. Hons in Social Science. It is the best graduation course.

Hi Siddharth,
Yes, whatever you want to prepare for, like IAS IPS or IFS, the system of exam is same. You have to appear for the exam called the Civil Services Examination or nowadays it is called CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test). So if you want to appear for IAS IPS or IFS that means you have to appear for CSAT exam. This exam is conducted by a Board or Commission that is UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), So frequently it is called as UPSC exam also. The exam is divided in 3 parts:
1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination
2. Civil Services Main Examination
3. Personal Interview (With Board Members).

Go for graduation in any field, which will help you in the civil services examination. Specifically, look for the subjects that are to be common between both the graduation subjects and the examination.

Hi Sandip,
Yes, of course. Completion of graduation and your performance in the exam are important. A year's gap will not impact your eligibility.

Hi Harshvardhan,
It doesn't matter, if you were an average student or a topper in your school. Trust me, a huge number of successful people in the world have been average or even below average in their school time. It is all about the passion, dedication, and willing to put the hard work. UPSC exams are highly competitive and requires a lot of hard work and perseverance. If you are really passionate to become an IAS officer, just concentrate on your goal and prepare for it with all your heart.
