In order to appear for the UPSC exam, there is no specification for the field of graduation to be pursued. You should be a graduate in any discipline with at least 55% marks.

It's an misconception every stream has its own value. Their is definitely nothing to degrade any stream. After B.A. I suggest you to choose Academy for IAS studies and this will help you get into the right line in the future. If your preparing for IAS start studying from today itself, that will help you complete syllabus at the earliest.
