You have to appear in the exam conducted by the UPSC and pass the Mains prelims and interview to get selected in IPS officer in central or any state government.

PCS Exam is conducted by Punjab Civil Services Exam acronym as PCS Exam is a combined competitive examination held by the Punjab Public Service Commission for recruitment
PPS Exam is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Civil service Exam acronym as PPS Exam.

Yes, you can and any candidate can become an IAS officer after completing his/her graduation that is after his graduation he or she is eligible to seat for UPSC or any other state civil service exam.

Quantitaive Aptitude is divided into 5 parts:
1. Arithmetic (Includes Percentages, Simple-Compound Interest, Profit-loss discount, Ratios, proportions, mixtures allegations, time-speed-distance & time-work)
2. Algebra (Includes linear & quadratic equations, functions, logs, etc etc)
3. Geometry (Lines, angles, triangles, polygons, mensuration, 3-D geo etc etc)
4. Number System (includes classifications, surds, simplifications, remainders, cyclicity)

In civil services exam, you have to take subjective exams related to the subjects you have studied in your degree. So, whatever you may choose according to your interest it will help you to prepare for the Mains as well. Check the notification of IAS exam and show to your parents as well from UPSC website and check which subjects make eligible for which of the posts. Science subjects makes you eligible for IAS and IFS both.

As you might know that petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Exploration and production are deemed to fall within the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. Why I am telling this is because this field is entirely different from other branches.
