Some methods can not be prescribed. The preparation is qualitative and quantitative. It is many-sided and it looks miscellaneous. It is a question of how much reading-habit you can cultivate and how methodical it can be. You collect the syllabus first and then orient yourself. Once you make a beginning, you can go on discussing.

It is not a problem, combining all these pursuits. Even after joining service, you can complete your research and submission of the thesis. Such instances are in plenty. Go ahead with whatever you desire.

If you are sure about becoming an IAS officer, then I would suggest you to go for BA in public policy and administration course from UPES. This college is the only college which provides IAS coaching along with this course which will definitely benefit you in cracking the IAS exam after your graduation.

Yes, you can definitely become an IAS officer.
Prelims paper will test your analytical and current affairs skills.
Also, you need not be a scholar in maths for becoming an IAS.
But be perfect with basic maths, percentage, profit, loss etc. In Mains, you can skip maths as there will be another option for you but to crack prelims you need to be perfect in basic maths.

Degree certificate of any course will be ok. It is not necessary that you must be a computer graduate only. B.Tech, BBA, B.Com, BA, B.Sc and MBBS, any degree will do. To appear for civil, all you need to have is a degree. That's it. There is no specification of subject requirement.
