If you are sure that you want to be an IAS officer, you should go for BA in public policy & administration course in UPES, Dehradun. As the subjects taught in this course are of political interest and this college is also providing IAS training classes along with this course.

You can complete your 12th with atleast 60 % marks or more to get admission into good college for b.a. After graduation with 50%, you are eligible to take UPSC exam.

Both the career options are excellent. It totally depends on your area of interest. Everyone want to become either IAS officers of CEO, MD, CMO, CFO etc as both offer high quality life.

Hi,
Belonging to a certain stream won't really hinder this aspiration of yours. If you have done your 12th, do your graduation from a recognized university. Prepare for civil service exams. It would be better if you could look for a coaching (HT's & Byju's classes offer this kind of coaching).
Prepare for it with full seriousness.

To become an IPS officer, you need to clear the UPSC exam and physical test.
Civil service exams are generally held in the month August and September.
It's fine to have science stream. You can choose your subjects in UPSC exam.
Few topics are mentioned below:
Current events of national and international importance.
History of India and Indian national movement.
Indian and World Geography - physical, social, economic geography of India and the world.
