For cracking civil services examination, the type of graduation does not matter. For success you will have to develop deep understanding in subjects of your choice. In order to excel in exam you must choose degree based on your interests and personal strengths.

I would like to congratulate you for your dream. Civil service is considered as the top level official jobs in central government. Please understand that there is no separate exams for IAS and IPS. There is only one exam called as Civil service examination. The examination is conducted by UPSC each year. On the basis of marks scored on this test, IAS, IPS, IFS,IRS services are allotted to the right candidates.
Eligibility : for Appearing Civil service premlims, Graduation in any stream from a recognized university , is enough. Please note that there is not mark restriction in graduation.
Age : One should complete minimum 21 y
