Hi Annmay,
Age requirement for IAS/UPSC/Civil Service eligibility has been reformed from 2015.
For General category candidates, upper age limit is 32 years with a maximum of 6 attempts.
For OBC candidates, upper age limit is 35 years with a maximum of 9 attempts.
For SC/ST candidates, upper age limit is 37 and the number of attempts is up to the age limit.
For physically disabled candidates, upper age limit is 35, 38 and 40 for General category, OBC and SC/ST respectively with the number of attempts being 9 for General category and OBC candidates; for SC/ST up to age limit.
Candidates from J&K domicile, upper age limits are 37 years, 40 year

Hello Gurkirat, go through the syllabus once and start preparing at home. Read newspaper daily stay updated with current affairs. Solve at least two questions each in aptitude and reasoning. For verbal, read English newspapers and magazines. You can also join coaching for tips and tricks, moreover the syllabus is vast so I would suggest you to join coaching if it is possible for you. As far as my knowledge is concern upes is an engineering and management university. the preparation for IAS can be best taken from delhi. as u have already mentioned the names, not differing with it, RAOs, CHANAKYA and there are many other good institutes to prepare IAS. wish you a successful career.

You've not shared much details about your area of interest so its little tough to guide you. Its always best to select the stream and subjects in which you want to opt for the IAS entrance test and then study them properly to have a 100% command on those subjects. You would be glad to know that UPES Dehradun has come up with special BA program for IAS aspirants.Its BA in Public Policy with IAS coaching embedded.
