It seems you are interested in the Indian Engineering Service (IES) and Indian Police Service (IPS) entrance examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES (IES) 2014 ENTRANCE EXAM will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 20th June, 2014 and it is 3 day long process. UPSC examination is conducted every year. On the basis of this examination a number of IAS, IPS, IFS officers are recruited.
Regarding subjects, there is a big list of optional subjects to choose from. You may choose according to your personal interest and skills. It is advisable to opt for a particular subject in which you are comfortable and find scoring as it will help you to prepare well and crack the exam.
You may opt for subjects like Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc.

Hi,
UPSC conducts civil services examination every year in the month of May and June and its main exam is in the month of December. The notification for this exam comes out in the month of January end.
Eligibility Criteria :
- You need to pass graduation in any field from any recognized university. You are eligible if you are in the final year of graduation.
- Your age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
- You must be an Indian citizen.
Preparation :
1) You may refer to guide books such as :
