There is a huge difference in both the exams. UPSC is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for Grade A officer post and SSC is conducted by Staff Service Commission for Grade B post in central government. The competition is high in UPSC because approximately only 800 -850 posts are there and in SSC only 4500-5000 posts.

Hello,
Eligibility for IAS is passed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, there's no minimum aggregate required in this case, you need to be 21 years old and you can apply even in the final year. Now, coming to your question UPSC is more humanities oriented and people from humanities background have an added advantage they're already well acquainted with the subjects included in the syllabus, for Science and other streams they do not study humanities subject at 10+2 and graduation level. IAS age limit is 21-32 for general candidates.
Upper age relaxation:
For OBC is 35
For SC/ST is 37
So think of your preparation.
