The requirement for IAS is that you have to complete your graduation with any stream and then you will be eligible for IAS/IPS.

IAS is a very difficult exam but not impossible. You can qualify if you work hard. I'll suggest that you join a coaching center. It will help you with good performance.

Hi,
Rule 21 of the Civil Services Examination Rules prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) says, A candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the discharge of his duties as an officer of the service. Hence, I don't think you can appear for the exam.

It has a good mix of static and topical questions, with some bordering on niche (see past papers to know what I mean!). For candidates appearing for CSE, this portion becomes easy to handle with some answer writing practice. But for those who are preparing solely for IFS exam, here is my recommended booklist (please feel free to add as per your self-SWOT analysis, but don't go overboard with booklist).
