The decision would be based on your interest areas and long term career plans. Since you are a Science student you have the option of exploring career in Pure sciences, applied sciences, Arts, commerce, media, management, performing arts, liberal arts, medicine, etc. , Many of these course will require you to appear for an entrance test, so you need to explore it accordingly. A person usually does well on the career front if he/she joins a course which it aligned to ones interest areas & passion.

Each and every branch in engineering is good, we can't compare them. There are just a few differences like mechanical, electrical and civil are evergreen branches but CS IT and EC have high placement records. Other than this, you may also take chemical, metallurgy, mechatronics, etc.

After completing the MCVC, you need to choose a future stream based on your interests and competencies. According to the MCVC scheme, the different groups include Engineering technology, commerce, agriculture, health and para medical services and home Science. So your brother can opt the courses according to his area of interest.

The eligibility criteria of most of the colleges for BBA course is 10+2 with English with 50% of aggregate marks. Hence you can be eligible if English taken at 10+2 level. Further there will not provide any benefits of two years spent in doing pharmacy course.
