Say, Engineering (electronics, computer Science, electrical, instrumentation, telecommunication, mechanical engineering are a few subjects to mention); Bachelors of Science across physics, botany, zoology, mathematics, chemistry, agriculture, bioinformatics, biotechnology are also good. Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy if that domain is your key interest. If you want to avoid sciences and medicals itself, Bachelors in business administration and computer applications are alternate options too. It depends on the stream of course. For example, for engineering, you have to take state level entrance exams, national level AIEEE, IIT-JEE exams. Lot of institutes offer University based entrance exams too for entry into their respective colleges.

Well, there are many people who do take up improvement exams. So, if you really want to and can dedicate good number of hours and have a detailed plan as to what scale of increase in marks you are looking at, then yes. Also do know what exact improvement you will need and why you will need that margin of increment. This will help you plan better.
