Some of the treated conditions may be acute disorders but most are acute exacerbations of chronic mental disorders.Clinical psychology can also be usefully applied to helping mentally and emotionally healthy individuals maintain their state of health. In itself, clinical psychology applies the scientific method to treating patients.
