Yes, management quota is available in Amrita School of Engineering, but it is necessary to attend the entrance exam, and also you should clear the minimum marks required in boards.

Hey Sandhiya,
This is the cut off marks for B.Sc Agriculture in TNAU Coimbatore for last year-2017.
OC - 194.50
BC - 193.50
BCM - 190.75
MBC - 191.75
SC - 184.75
SCA - 178.75
ST - 185.00
In my opinion, you can only expect minor changes to the above mentioned marks. It would almost be the same for B.Sc Agriculture.
However, if your only aim is to get into TNAU and not necessarily B.Sc Agriculture, there are other courses which require less cut off marks.
My suggestion is that you always have at least 2 options (2 courses) at hand, before entering the counselling hall.

MIT offers only 8 courses if I am not wrong where as PSG offers 18 different courses now including Robotics. Aeronautical is good in MIT where as PSG doesn't have the course. Location also matters when you choose a college. I had around 15 guys in my batch ( BE Production) 20082012 from Chennai when they had the option to take any course from MIT and a few available courses from CEG, even then they preferred PSG to CEG/MIT. Guys who want to do research kind of courses they could take biotech and Biomed. One of my friends who studied biotech in PSG is now doing some kind of research abroad. It all comes down to the person who studies (s

PSG Coimbatore are better than SSN Chennai as you can compare it by the ranking difference gap between them(approx.25) and their placement record.

I completely disagree with the previous answers. They are solely deciding on government vs private basis. PSG has a far greater reputation abroad than COEP. The branding of PSG is very poor in India, especially north India. This is because they do not conduct any examination of their own and use Anna counselling as the preliminary selection. They select very less students through interview and Mains marks. However a stronger alumni network will get you good opportunities abroad. As to the placements, PSG is consistently within the top 3 colleges with best placements in Tamil Nadu, the rest consisting of IIT Madras and CEG.

Hi Krishna,Please refer to the link provided below for a detailed comparison between SVS College of Engineering Coimbatore & SJC Institute of Technology, Chikkaballapur for a course. https://www.shiksha.com/resources/college-comparison-247530-189965
You should be able to compare various features of the two institutes to help you reach a decision of which is better, and where you would like to pursue. Regards.
