You should not limit your search to only Coimbatore but to entire India. Most of the institutes offer certificate & diploma courses in game design. Many of them are not even affiliated to any university. Look for colleges such as MIT, Pune, DSKIC Pune, Artemisia College of Art & Design, Indore (Govt. University), which offer 3-4 years duration in-depth degree courses in Game design. NID Ahemdabad offers Masters degree in Game Design. Do not confuse Game Design with Game programming. IPI has a good brand name, though it has been low for some time. Both ASB and IPE have almost same average salaries.
ASB has good infrastructure and great faculty for Marketing, Finance and Operations.
