The selection criteria for the B.E./B.Tech course at BCET (Bangalore College of Engineering and Technology) are primarily based on the candidate's performance in relevant entrance exams. For Karnataka state candidates, admission is primarily through the KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) score. For candidates from outside Karnataka, the COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test) score is commonly accepted. After obtaining a valid score in one of these entrance exams, candidates must participate in the centralized counseling process. During counseling, seats are allocated based on the candidate's rank, entrance exam score, and availability of seats in the desired branch. For candidates from Andhra Pradesh, admission is generally through the EAMCET (Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) score, which is conducted by the state government. The college also considers the candidate's 10+2 marks, with Physics, Mathematics, and one of the optional subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science being the core subjects. After the entrance exam, candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), where seats are allocated based on the entrance exam scores, rank, and availability of seats. For candidates applying under the management quota, the selection may be based on alternative entrance exam scores or the college's own screening process.
