One of significant institution of nursing education in the region is the College of Nursing Sangli which is a part of Bharati Vidyapeeth., although it is quite popular in Sangli, may not be the best one when compared to other institutes of Maharashtra like AIIMS or CMC Vellore which is on national level. However, it has reasonable repute, good infrastructure, and experienced faculty members for those students who want to take admission in nursing in Sangli. It has a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of nursing hence it is a good contender in the region but not the market leader in entire Maharashtra.

Though it is included in the Bharati Vidyapeeth University which has campuses and programs in India and abroad however the college of nursing is not listed in first fifty Universities of India. It bears established and appropriate recognition for nursing education and its infrastructure makes it one of the more preferred location for nursing colleges but it is not in the tier one college category which would have encompassed the more famous nursing college like AIIMS or CMC Vellore.
