Cutoff marks generally varies every year. Although you have need 60 % marks in 10+2 exam. And you have to clear their entrance exam also.

Yes, the Aligarh Muslim University exam has a negative marking for the engineering programme. One mark will be given for the correct answer and For an incorrect answer, 0.25 or 1/4 marks will be deducted. AMU Entrance exam will be conducted via computer-based mode. The questions will be asked in the Multiple choice questions format. There will be a total of 100 questions in the examination.  As per the marking scheme, five marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will get deducted for each wrong answer. About 50% marks in 10+2 along with PCMB, or PCB as main subjects is the criteria for taking admission in AMU. From the Entrance Exam point of view, the Supplement -M of Guide for information is updated and necessary information in detail is present on the AMU official site.

That depends on whether you are an External or an Internal candidate.
If you are an Internal candidate, then surely 80 would be more than sufficient to get you into any branch of your choice. I mean, most probably it would!
But if you are an External, then at 80, you most probably would get selected. Though you might not get into the branch of your preference.

Unreserved/ General Category - 75-80 marks
Reserved Category - 70-75 marks
External students - Above 70
Internal students - Above 60
