Founded in 1983 in Amravati, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati institution (SGBAU), formerly known as Amravati University, is a state-level institution. It is an Association of Indian Universities member and has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) (AIU). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted it re-accreditation with a "A" grade.
