Hello Ashutosh Kumar,
The procedure is different in different states of India. Some states conduct an entrance exam for lateral admission while some states give admission based on the marks of diploma courses. West bengal government conducts an entrance exam for admission on lateral basis. I am attaching a link that will tell you all about this examination and different aspects of it for admissions. In Maharashtra you will have to fill in the form online available on the website of directorate of technical education of Maharashtra.

Hello Sanket,
Lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech is based on your Diploma aggregate. There is not separate entrance Test for lateral entry into engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Some colleges may conduct their own entrance test. But maximum colleges follow the procedure set by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra.
