The GMRIT does not provide 100% scholarships in direct terms, but the institute has a range of monetary packages in the form of government scholarships, for example, PMS for SC/ST students, merit-based scholarships, and so on. Some scholarships are also applicable to students depending upon their performance and financial backgrounds, though the details about such 100% coverage are not mentioned. There is advice to contact the admissions office or check the official website for more information on any available financial assistance programs.

Generally, the hostel food at GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) is acceptable as provided by the students. The mess facility in the hostels provides nutritious meals along with a wide variety, as required by the students. The food preparation is hygienically maintained, and for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, plenty of options are available. The college ensures that the food balances out the health requirements of the students. However, the food variety seems to be lacking among some students-particularly those whose tastes would have to be catered for.
