A pass in Class 12 examination from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination recognised by Rajiv Gandhi University (including Vocational Course) is required to apply for NIELIT Itanagar BCA course. Yes, NIELIT Itanagar offers scholarship based on merit and financial-need of the students. The institute offers Protsahan Puraskar Scheme for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students. Candidates must clear the papers in the first attempt to apply for the scholarship. However, candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for a UG programme. 70% in Class 12 is a decent score and candidates can get admission based on their merit.

NIELIT Itanagar accepts NIELIT Entrance Exam for admission to long-term courses. The NIELIT Exam is conducted on all Indian levels by itself or as the apex body for admission to O-Level, A-Level, B-Level and C-Level courses. The exam is held twice in a year in Janauary and July.
