The interview is a key component for admission to the MBA at McGill University. The university considers a holistic approach so there is no specified weightage assigned to the interview. The interview is important for the admissions committee to better understand the candidate's background and experiences and for candidates to showcase their personality, leadership qualities, and how they can contribute to the MBA cohort. No single factor is decisive. Therefore, a positive interview does not guarantee admission.

Candidates applying must have an undergraduate degree from a recognised university. Every applicant also needs to finish the GMAT or GRE. Applicants whose mother tongue is not English need to submit English proficiency test scores (TOEFL or IELTS). Additionally, applicants should have at least 2 years of work experience in a related field. Other important requirements include 2 reference letters, CV and essay questions. Strong applicants are invited for interviews following the examination of their applications.
