Candidates seeking admission to PSG College of Arts and Science courses are required to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria set by the college for their desired course. The eligibility criteria for candidates applying for UG aided/self-financed programmes are different depending upon the course they choose. The selection process for UG programmes is based on merit/scores obtained in the qualifying examination.

Entrance examinations are conducted as per the government norms for MSW and MA (Journalism and Mass Communication). Hence, admission to these courses is entrance-based. For other courses, there are no entrance exams.

The selection is based on marks and community. In addition, cut off marks are taken out of 400 (other than English and Language marks). English and Tamil marks are taken as cutoff marks only for BA English and BA Tamil admission.
