You have a rank of 90K. It means these many students are ahead of you. Hence, your chance will depend on how these 90K give their choice. I would advise you to still participate in counseling since nobody can actually guess how the situation develops.

Let me tell you one thing, only core NIT's have good placement all other are also fine, but not as good compared to VIT University, because VIT University offers good placements in CSE, IT, ECE branch and as compared to NIT Durgapur. Chemical branch is not up to the marks, because in the end branch does matter, so it is better to take VIT.

Sure, but first of all, what is your JEE rank? Last year, the cut-off range was 4.5K to 13.6K for WB state and 3.8K to 9.7K for other state (General Category).
