SoET PDEU admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in the personal interview round. Phase-I of the admission is for GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE-qualified candidates can participate in Phase-II of the admission. The university prepares a merit list for GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified candidates based on performance in personal interview round and GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Yes, SOT PDEU accepts national-level entrance exam or conducts written test to shortlist candidates for admission to various courses. Only for BSc (Hons) merit in the last qualifying exam or performance in the personal interview round is considered for admission. Candidates are first required to register for the programme of their choice at SOT PDEU. The school shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on entrance exam scores. SOT PDEU accepts JEE Main for BTech and GATE for M.Tech programmes. Non-GATE qualified candidates are selected based on personal interview round. SOT conducts written test for MSc and PhD programmes. For BSc, selection is based on merit in the last qualifying exam and performance in the personal interview round.

SOT, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) BTech, MTech, BSc, MSc and PhD courses in several Engineering specialisations related to the Energy streams, for example, Nuclear energy, Solar energy, Petroleum energy, etc. Admission to these courses is based on scores of national-level entrance exams. Candidates can apply for UG programmes after completing Class 12. Graduation is required to apply for PG courses.
