SMIT is one of the best colleges and also have the best infrastructure, better than most of the college in Sikkim. It has a huge vicinity and an amazing sports facility. Excellent infrastructure, well-experienced faculty & one of the best learning environments in India. There are 95% placements for all those who wish to sit for it (despite there being many who quit the placement rounds at the last moment to opt for better opportunities [read: off campus]). However, there is a downside to it: Mechanical and Civil departments barely have any good on-campus placements in core companies due to the relatively low sizes of the departments and the fact that, yes we are stuck on a mountain.The faculty at SMIT, like any other college, is a mixed bag.
