The language of instruction for many programs at Technical University Dortmund is German. For a successful study, a knowledge of German language is required. German language proficiency tests that are accepted are DSH, TestDAF. When it comes to studying an English language program, the students require an English language proficiency. Technical University of Dortmund QS rankings is #851-900th position in 2024. On the other hand, according to Times Higher Education rankings 2024, the university has been placed at #401-500th position. The university’s position has improved this year as compared to 2023 in THE rankings, as it was earlier placed at #501-600th position.

Yes, foreign students who have a permanent residence permit do not require a special work permit. As a rule, international students may be employed for 120 full days or 240 half days per year. Yes, you can do an internship while studying at Dortmund University. Students can go for voluntary internships. But, foreign students can do part-time jobs for a total of 120 full days or 240 half days per year. This internship will be counted as regular work, even if it is unpaid. Note that in many degree programs, the internships are compulsory.
