To be eligible for BTech at Guwahati University, candidates must have the following:They must be a citizen of IndiaThe age of the candidates must be between 17-21 years. There is a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit available for SC/ST candidates.Must have passed Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate with PCM and English as subjects (45% for SC and 40% for ST)In addition to the regular four-year BTech, the university also offers direct admission to the second year of BTech via lateral entry. Yes, Gauhati University provides a four-year BTech programme across four specialisations through Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology. Divided into eight semesters of six months’ duration, admission to all the BTech courses is subject to a valid score in the Assam CEE entrance exam or JEE Main. Furthermore, students also have an option to secure lateral entry admission directly to the second year or third semester of the BTech course. Admission to BTech Lateral Entry courses is subject to a valid score in JLEE Assam exam. Out of the total seats that are available for BTech at Guwahati University, 20% seats are reserved for JEE Main qualifiers provided that they have a valid PRC of Assam. Remaining seats are available for the CEE qualifiers.
