CLAT is the entrance exam that NLU Assam accepts for admission. The Consortium of NLUs administers the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national law entrance test, to candidates seeking admission to one-year LLM (PG) and five-year integrated LLB (UG) programmes. Exams are given for admission to 21 NLUs in postgraduate programmes and 24 NLUs in undergraduate programmes. Candidates must answer questions on English, Current Affairs and GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Mathematics for UG courses, as well as Constitutional Law and other legal subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and IPR.

Yes, you can apply for BA LLB programme at NLU Assam if you have a percentage of 70 in class 12. The basic eligibility criteria for admission into NLU Assam as per the college norms is 45%. The criteria is as follows: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with above mentioned marks from any recognised board/council. Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2024 are also eligible to appear. Candidate must submit result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission.

On the official NLU website, aspirants can view the NLU Assam cutoff details. You can also review the detailed cut off information that Shiksha has provided, which is tabulated. Following Round 5 for admission to the BA LLB and LLM programmes, CLAT 2023 was completed. The latest round closing rank for BA LLB (Hons) was 2569, and for LLM, it was 2621, according to the NLUJAA cutoff 2023. Moreover, CLAT 2024 is anticipated to take place on December 3 for NLUJAA admissions in 2024. The tentative release date for the NLUJAA cutoff 2024 is January 2024, taking into account the schedule from the previous year.

The official college website currently has not released any information regarding the placement of LLM. Details regarding the placements of BAs and LLBs are available in the NIRF report. The placement information for the 2023 graduating class is still pending in the official site. On its official website, the institute has, nevertheless, made available the NIRF report for 2023. One BA LLB (Hons) student was placed at NLU Assam placements in 2021, according the NIRF report 2023. Additionally, INR 7.63 LPA was the median package provided to BA LLB students during NLU Assam placements in 2021.

Both the colleges has not yet released the details regarding the placement. 48 LLM and 96 BA LLB (Hons) students were placed at Nalsar University of Law in 2022, according to the NIRF report. During NALSAR University of Law placements in 2022, the median package offered to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM students was INR 16 LPA and INR 7 LPA, respectively. During the NLU Assam placement in 2021, 1 BA LLB (Hons) student was placed, according to the NIRF official website report 2023. Additionally, INR 7.63 LPA was the median package provided to BA LLB students during NLU Assam placements in 2021.
