For last year, the closing rank for Integrated B.Tech. + M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 12493 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it's advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in NIT Hamirpur - National Institute of Technology.

The CGPA is the cumulative grade point average which, in real terms, represents a total of all your credit points. This system is helpful for evaluating student's overall performance in the classroom. For the CGPA system, grades shall be assigned according to a special category of marks. For instance, 90-95 marks bracket is allotted to grade A. To calculate CGPA, the grades are combined, with the rest of your subjects you have taken in that semester divided up.In simple wordsCGPA= Sum of all the marks obtained/ Total number of credit hours.

BTech course contains 8 semesters and each semester is of 6 months. Within a semester students have to give 3 internals and a external exam. And from those 3 internal exams best of two will be taken so if you misses in just one internal then it's fine as you can cover it in two other attempts. In case you misse two or three of them this will affect your accademic result (CGPA) may be you have to give the exam again which also said as backlog. And you have to clear it for siting in an interview.

Chitakara University is one of the biggest Private universities with over 10 courses. In total of all course's student there are over 20,000+ students and 2500 faculty members as per google. Truely speaking there are a lot of students pursuing their BTech degree from Chitkara University. I am not sure about the numbers but as for Engineering there are over 2,500 to 3000 students including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year student (probably). There are different sections and there are 40 to 50 students in one section.
