Being a student of LPU, I think I can provide you with an honest opinion. Though I'm not pursuing my BSc in agriculture, I do have many friends who are pursuing the same.LPU is accredited by ICAR. It is the 1st private university to get accredited by ICAR(Indian Council of Agricultural Research). BSc. Agriculture degree offers a number of avenues for growth. The graduates desirous of specializing may opt for a master's program.The Undergraduate Degree in BSc. Agriculture consists of few core subjects such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Genetics, Plant Pathology, Land Surveying, Entomology Horticulture, Physiology, Food Science, water resource management, and Animal Products management. A number of subjects such as Economics, Meteorology, Technology, Business, and Production Management are studied in close reference to the subject.A large part of the agriculture programme is based in practice inculcated via field trips, study tours, and projects. A BSc. graduate is expected to master concepts like macro-micro crop planning, Agri-financing and agricultural statistics and use them extensively.LPU is the 1st private university that got approval from ICAR.(i). The School of Agriculture is approved for accreditation for a period of five years with a GPAC of 3.42(ii) The following degree programmes were approved for accreditations for a period of five yearsBSc. (Hons.) AgriculturePlacement: Students of the School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio Seed, Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Sanra organics, and many more. The maximum package offered for in Agri. at LPU is 19.25 LPA and the average package is 3.4 LPA.

Dear,To take admission in B.Sc hons agriculture program you need to fulfill the eligibility of the program that is 90% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English and three subjects out of Physics or Chemistry or Maths or Biology or Agriculture) or equivalent.ORPass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English and three subjects out of Physics or Chemistry or Maths or Biology or Agriculture) subject to qualifying LPUNEST.The LPU is the first private university to get ICAR approval. The LPU agriculture programme is designed with a target of holistic development of students. School of Agriculture offers programs with up-to -date curriculum designed to suit the aspirations of agricultural industries as well as major research and development sectors. It includes disciplines like Agronomy, Horticulture Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Economics, Extension, etc. The major emphasis of the programme is to get the students acquainted with knowledge and hands-on experiences in the above mentioned discipline and apply that knowledge to high value agricultural production in a sustainable manner. The ICAR approved programmes include: B Sc (Hons. ). Agriculture M. Sc Agriculture {Horticulture (Fruit Science) M. Sc Agriculture (Agronomy) M. Sc Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding)The minimum age required for enrolling in the programme is 16yrs. Students may be given an option to go for a 4 weeks study tour to USA/ European countries or any other country as decided by the University subject to conditions. There is also an option to join a partner university abroad for a semester. Students are engaged towards evergreen agriculture, keeping in view the RAWE programme to build interpersonal skills. The students are exposed to Commercial farms to get know-how that creates an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. Emphasis on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios is given. This year the maximum salary offered to a student was 19.25 LPA while average salary was 7.95LPA. All the best!!
