No, students cannot directly get admitted to the Central University of Jammu. To secure admission, they must take the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the university. Qualifying in the CUET is necessary to be eligible for admission to the university's various courses. The CUET is a national level entrance exam conducted by the Central University of Rajasthan for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the participating central universities, including Central University of Jammu.

If a student fails internal exams at the Central University of Jammu, there are certain consequences. They won't be allowed to take the external exams and will have to wait for the next semester to retake the exam by applying for a back paper. Failing internal exams can also result in being put on academic probation, where their academic performance will be closely watched. To pass the exam, the student needs to score at least 36% marks in the subject, including practicals, in both the university examination and internal assessment, according to the official website of Jammu University.
