The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded the university accreditation with a grade of "B++."

According to directives from the University of Kashmir, the academic members administered examinations semester by semester. There are several schools and departments within the institution, including the School of Business Studies, the Department of Management Studies, the Department of Law, the School of Legal Studies, the Department of Information Technology, the School of Languages, and others.

The University accept NET JRF/ Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/  University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) exams for PhD admission.The following entry tests are accepted by the a postgraduate degree in a relevant field with a minimum overall score of 55% is the minimal requirement for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

Following are the basic requirements for admission for PG programmes at Central University of Kashmir:Candidates must hold a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with at least 50% overall or the equivalent on the relevant university grading scale.Candidates must have a current score from exams such as the CUET, GATE, UGC-NET, SET, JEST, or JRF.Candidates must meet the requirements for the particular PG programme they are applying for.

The Department of Students Welfare (DSW) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) conducts an examination for coaching of civil services exams. Four Deputy DSWs are employed by the department, and they represent the university four campuses. They are Drs. Asif Khan, Ishrat Bashir, Faizan Ashraf Mir, and Mohammad Lateef Khaliq. These deputy DSWs manage the planning of different DSW initiatives. The University different sports activities are overseen by the Dean of Students Welfare, and Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, the Sports Coordinator, works under his direction to promote sports at the University.
