 Candidates with a BE, BTech, BS, or BDes degree and a GATE or GPAT qualification are eligible for financial aid worth INR 12,400 per month. Even if they do not pass the GATE exam, IIT BTech graduates with a CGPA of 8 or higher are eligible for assistantships. Sponsored category students cannot get an IITJ assistantship, nevertheless. The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a registration portal. Candidates who pass GATE exam are required to apply on COAP portal for counselling. Only the students who register successfully on the portal become eligible for admission in an M.Tech course of IIT Jodhpur.

The selection is based on GATE scores followed by COAP Counselling. Candidates shortlisted are invited for written exam or interview round for final selections. Aspirants shall complete the GATE application process  (gate.iitk.ac.in) within the due date to be eligible for admission as there is no other provision for admission. With a valid COAP score, students may have to apply on IITJ website as well.

You can request for branch change only at the end of the second semester. The fulfilment of the eligibility criteria for branch change is also crucial. Hence, the candidate must have a CGPA greater than or equal to 8.0 and 7.0 for SC/ST and PD applicants. Candidates can reach out to the higher authorities for more information on the same.

BTech CSE has the most competitive cut-off, the 2021 cut off in round six for CSE stood at 2897. Moreover, the placement statistics of CSE graduates is also better among all the specialisations. During 2022 placements, the median and average package offered to BTech CSE students  was INR 28.7 LPA and INR 28 LPA, respectively.

Candidates shall bring originals and copies of all the necessary academic certificates, JEE (Main & Advanced) scorecards, address proof, identity card, cast/domicile certificate, and at least two passport-size photographs. In addition, aspirant must carry the fee payment receipts. Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Jodhpur is based on performance in the all-India level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), followed by JEE Advanced. Based on JEE Advanced score, candidates need to take part in JoSAA counselling. Candidates can apply on the JEE official website (nta.ac.in). Candidates who secure a rank more than or equal to the IITJ BTech cutoff become eligible for admission.

The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Jodhpur - Indian Institute of Technology has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 2430. In 2023, it decreased to 2408. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 1179 to 1363 for OBC, 652 to 697 for SC, 354 to 367 for ST, 366 to 456 for EWS, 138 to 116 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
