Concerning the quality of food in the hostel mess, students have closely associated the quality with an average one concerning Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology. It has a facility to provide affordable, and nutritional food but the food may not be as tasty and diverse as it is in another establishment. The mess normally caters for vegetarians, however, it has a selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While there is evidence that sometimes students are complaining of having problems with taste and the cleanliness of the food served in student cafeterias, the food provides most of the needed nutrition.

Regarding the examination of the semester, whether it is theory or practical, the result of S J C Institute of Technology comes within 30-45 days of the examination. They are displayed on the institute's official website and the different notice boards available. For courses affiliated with VTU, the schedule mentioned in the VTU schedule is followed. Much as it is standard for students to receive their percentage, mark sheets, and grade points, they are issued instantly with minimal or no hustles in transition to the next semester.
