Vimala College admission is merit-based for a majority of the programme. The college offers 16 UG courses in B.A., BSc & BCom, M.A. MSW, MCom and MSc. Farook Institute of Management Studies does not allow direct entry of students into its MBA. Eligible students are selected according to entrance test scores like CAT, CMAT, or KMAT. An applicant must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks in any discipline from an accredited university. After passing the score in the entrance test, candidates face a group discussion and personal interview in the selection process. Work experience is not mandatory but would add strength to the application.

Mahatma Gandhi University releases its application form generally in the month of May. Hence, the BCom application form can be expected to be out in the second week of May as per the past years' schedule.
