The eligibility criteria stated by MEC Kochi mentions the minimum qualification and aggregate requried to apply for a course. The basic eligibility is Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Candidates need to pass Class 12 or equivalent pass with at least 50% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology taken together to apply for MEC Kochi BTech admission. Besides, aspirants also need to pass Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination for admission to BTech.

Candidates need to pass BTech degree in relevant stream with at least 60% aggregate to apply for MEC Kochi M.Tech programme. For SC/ ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering degree is enough. Besides, aspirants belonging to SEBC (OBC) need to pass the degree with a minimum of 54% aggregate. Aspirants who have passed AMIE/ AMIETE examinations with a minimum of 55% aggregate in section-B and a valid GATE score can also apply.
