This is a programme leading to the Bachelors Degree in Education. The programme extends for a period of two years/ four semesters. The course of study shall be by regular attendance for the requisite number of lectures and practical training as per Mahatma Gandhi University Regulations for the B Ed programmes.Candidates who have passed any graduate level degree examination which is recognised by Mahatma Gandhi University with 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent grade (CGPA of 2/CCPA of 5) are eligible for admission.Candidates who have passed Degree examination with Double/Triple main are eligible for admission to B Ed in any of thesubjects they have studied as their Core/main. However, they have to submit copy of the Equivalency/Eligibility Certificate and Programme wise Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University, stating that, their Qualifying Examination isrecognized for seeking admission to the relevant B Ed Degree Course (s) as applicable, at the time of admission. Thisprovision is not applicable in the case of those applicants who have passed their qualifying examination from MGUniversity. 

Tech being its flagship program. Admission to IIST Thiruvananthapuram's B.Tech programme necessitates a Higher Secondary Certificate degree (10+2) with a minimum of 75% marks. Applicants must also secure a JEE Advanced score, followed by participation in the counselling process conducted by the institute.For the SC/ST/PwD categories, the candidates need to score a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in their Class 12 Board examination. Compulsory Subjects for IIST Admission: To be eligible for selection, it is mandatory to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the major subjects .IIST UG Admission - 2024 is based on JEE (Advanced) 2024.
