The Vardhman Mahaveer Open University established its central library during the year 1987-88 but was actually functional from July 1988. Since the students of VMOU  are distant learners belonging to various regions of Rajasthan, the libraries at Vardhman Mahaveer Open University look into the library requirements of students, staff, and others. The library has a huge collection of books related to the Social Sciences, Humanities, Science & Technology, and various other disciplines.

VMOU Kota has a central library and has important sections such as Circulation, Stack, Technical, Acquisition, Periodical, Audio-Visual, Reference, Computer Lab, and others. The universitie's central library is open on all days except the university holidays. The library has a very huge collection of books related to the Science & Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences, and several other disciplines. There are reference books, journals, textbooks, and several other books available in the library.
